Tutvumine Indoneesia haiglaga/ Getting familiar with Indonesian hospital.

This post is to Igas' mother, as she checkes my blog every day :) So it's gonna be in English.

As we were in internet by the school campus my roomie Iga started to feel really bad. So we went to our accomodation place and she felt better. We were almost going to bed and she started to have this strong pain in her chest, felf like someone was choking her, big headache, strong squeeze and pain in her eyes. As she felt worse and as the General Hospital on Tabanan is close, we decided to go there.

This is the emergency chair/bed for Iga. What a wheel!

They took a blood test and made an x-ray of her lungs.

Here are some important machines and Iga wainting for the x-ray.

Thumbs up!

So after a blood test they found that she has a type of salmonella. So she needs to stay in hospital for 3 days and get some antibiotics. If she were local she could go home and take antibiotics there, but as she is a foreigner and they want to make sure she gets better, she has to stay in there for a while. They gave her some painkiller for the pain in chest and eventually she felt  better. There were only few doctors who could speak English so it took some time until we understood whats the situation. As they did some infection to her arms/mussel and she was telling how painful it is, I strated to almost faint! What a friend! I don't like hospitals and the smell there and all the people in pain etc so I needed to go outside for some fresh air, sit down a bit and so on... So I' felt better :)

Today we went to visit her in hospital. They said she might get out tomorrow but Indonesian "tomorrow" might mean 3 days so fingers crossed!

The pictures aren't so good but you can still see her room. Actually it seems quite good one as she has western toilet and TV in the room and she doesn't need to share the room with 20 other Indonesians. And she is lucky to have a bed because we heard from a friend that a Spanish guy had a bike accident in Bali and he was in coma for few days and they but him on the floor. So Iga is treated really luxuriously! And she gets food like 5 times a day.

It seems they but some drugs into her antibiotics because I haven't seen her laughing so much since I met her :)
So fingers crossed that they will "release" her tomorrow!
